Luke did a great job and was very flexible and understanding of our needs. He listened and was very helpful in explaining answers to our questions. I would highly recommend his work.

SPStephen PoorePosted on Google★★★★★

Luke was on time, considerate upon entering the house, and has a pleasant, friendly manner. He also gave excellent advice and suggestions/options for solving the problem, without "pushing" for one or the other. NEXTPOINT Electrics is to be highly recommended.

Luke at NextPoint was fantastic. Arrived on time both times he's done work, texted first to say he was on his way. Very quick, efficient and tidy with both jobs and a great guy to deal with. Highly recommend and will definitely use him again.

Luke was super efficient and communication on point. Came around the next day to quote for all ceiling fans replaced and was all done in less than a week. Highly recommend Luke and Nextpoint Electrics!

Electrician St Leonards FAQ

Do you actually cover St Leonards?

Yes. We are based in Ocean Grove and run up the eastern side of the peninsula to get here, with no travel time on the bill and no distance loading. There is no call out fee and no distance loading.

Which parts of St Leonards do you cover?

All of it, the whole 3223 postcode, and the neighbouring towns with it. Nowhere in St Leonards is far enough from us to be worth charging you extra for.

How quickly can you get to St Leonards?

We are based in Ocean Grove and run up the eastern side of the peninsula to get here, with no travel time on the bill and no distance loading. We do not promise a set response time, but you get a straight answer on the phone and a time on the day rather than an all day window.

Does being this close to the water change anything?

Outside, yes. St Leonards sits on the bay at the top of the peninsula and gets it steadily rather than in bursts. Salt corrodes metal and it does not need to be sea spray to do it: outdoor power points, light fittings, switchboard enclosures and the screws holding them up all age faster here than they do inland. What fails is usually the fixing or the seal rather than the fitting itself.

About St Leonards

St Leonards sits about 33 km east of Geelong on the northern tip of the Bellarine. It is a holiday town first: the resident population went from around 1,300 in 2001 to about 3,500 in 2021, and in summer with campers and holidaymakers it runs well past ten thousand.

Holiday housing ages differently from housing lived in year round. A place opened at Christmas and shut up again has usually had less done to it, and the electrical work in it can be decades behind the rest of the street. Sleepouts, converted garages and the room that was added on are where the surprises are.

Being on the bay, the exposure is real even without surf. Anything mounted outside is in salt air all year, so outdoor points, lighting and switchboard enclosures get specified for that, because the fixing or the seal is what fails long before the fitting does.

The practical version for a St Leonards owner: a house that was a holiday place for thirty years and is now lived in full time is being asked to do something it was never wired for. That is the most common job here, and the board is where it starts.

If you let the place out over summer, safety switch protection and compliant alarms are the two things worth sorting in the off season rather than the week before a booking.
