What the work covers

Power Point Work We Do Most

A power board under the desk is a message. What decides the price is the wall, the ceiling access and whether the circuit can take more.

New power points

Where there is none now. What decides the cost is the wall type and how the cable can be got there, not the socket itself.

Extra outlets on an existing point

Turning a single into a double, or adding a point on the same wall, which is usually the cheapest way to fix a power board.

New circuits when the old one is full

Sometimes the answer is not another outlet, it is a circuit that can carry what you are plugging into it.

Kitchen, laundry and bench points

Bench height, appliance points and isolation where the appliance needs it, planned around the cabinetry rather than around it.

Outdoor and weatherproof points

Weatherproof points, alfresco power and shed supply, specified for salt air so the seal is not the thing that fails.

USB and combination outlets

Handy in a bedside or a kitchen. Worth knowing they date faster than the socket does, which we will tell you before you buy a houseful.

One number, agreed before anything begins, with GST stated. There is no call out fee, so a look at the job costs you nothing.

Priced from your walls, not a list

Brick, timber frame, single or double storey all change how the cable gets there. That is what the price is actually about.

Licensed, every time

Registered electrical contractor REC 346464. Whoever turns up is licensed, insured and working to the same standard.

Every point we install is on a circuit that can carry it, tested before we leave, and covered by our lifetime workmanship warranty.

How we work

Our Process

  1. You ring and describe it

Which rooms, how many points, and roughly when the house was built. Most power point jobs can be priced from that.

  2. We confirm on the day

We check the wall, the ceiling access and what the circuit is already carrying. If it is different from expected, you hear the new price first.

  3. We install and test it

Points fitted, circuit tested, and the site left clean rather than covered in plaster dust.

  4. Guaranteed for life

Our lifetime workmanship warranty covers the installation. If our work is not right we come back and put it right at no charge.

On every job, no exceptions

Three Promises on Every Job

  • $0 Call out fee

We come out, look at it and price it. That visit costs you nothing.

  • Fixed Price before we start

One number, agreed before anything begins, GST stated. It does not move.

  • Lifetime Workmanship warranty

If our work is not right we come back and put it right at no charge. No expiry.

Power point questions

Asked most often

Can you move a power point rather than add one?

Yes, and it is often the better answer when a bed or a bench has moved. Moving a point on the same wall is usually simple, because the cable is already in the right area. Moving it to a different wall is effectively a new point plus making good where the old one was. Tell us both positions when you ring and we will say which of those two it is.

How many points can go on one circuit?

There is no single number, and anyone who gives you one without asking what is plugged in is guessing. What matters is the load, the cable size and the protection at the board. In practice, general points around a house share circuits perfectly happily, while a garage freezer, a workshop or an appliance that runs unattended is worth its own way. We look at the board before adding to it rather than assuming there is room.

Is it worth putting a point in the shed?

If the shed already has power, adding points inside it is usually easy. If it has none, the job is the supply to the shed rather than the point, which means a proper run out to it, protection at both ends and a decision about whether it goes overhead or underground. That is a bigger conversation and it is worth having before you buy the tools that need it.

Will you have to cut my wall about?

A new point needs a hole the size of the mounting block, and that is covered by the plate. Beyond that, most runs go through the roof space or under the floor rather than through wall faces. Where a wall genuinely has to be opened, you will be told before it happens and shown where. We are not in the business of surprising people with patching.

Do you cover my suburb for power point work?

Yes, anywhere within a short drive of Ocean Grove, including Drysdale, Torquay, Curlewis, Queenscliff and everywhere else on the service areas page. Acreage properties with sheds are worth mentioning on the phone, because the distance from the house changes the job.

Still deciding? Ring and tell us what you have got, and we will tell you what it needs.
