Kitchen, bathroom and laundry
Appliance points, isolation, bench power and ventilation, planned around the cabinetry rather than after it.
Fifteen more things NextPoint does, each with what actually matters about it rather than just its name. If what you need is not here, it is still worth ringing about.
What else we do
If it is electrical and it is in a house, it is on this list somewhere. If it is not, ring anyway.
Appliance points, isolation, bench power and ventilation, planned around the cabinetry rather than after it.
Something tripping, flickering or dead. Found by testing rather than by replacing parts until it stops.
Exhaust fans ducted to outside, ceiling fans fixed into structure, and split systems on their own circuits.
Shed supply, garden lighting, weatherproof points and cable runs done once rather than surface run and regretted.
Safety switches, surge protection, and testing what you already have to see whether it does anything.
Most calls start with someone describing a noise or a smell. Describe it and we will tell you what it is.
Not sure which page your job belongs on? Ring and describe it. That is usually faster than working it out yourself.
Why NextPoint
If the work is not right we come back and put it right at no charge. That covers our work, for as long as you own it.
One number, agreed before anything begins, with GST stated. There is no call out fee, so a look at the job costs you nothing.
Rather than three trades and three visits, most of what a house needs electrically can be done on one.
Registered electrical contractor REC 346464. Whoever turns up is licensed, insured and working to the same standard.
Whatever the job, the same three things apply: no call out fee, a fixed price before we start, and a lifetime workmanship warranty.
How we work
In your own words. You do not need to know the right term for it, and most jobs can be priced from a description.
We look at what you have actually got and confirm the price before any work starts.
Licensed work, tested, site left clean, and a walk through of what was done.
Every job carries our lifetime workmanship warranty. If our work is not right we come back and put it right at no charge.
On every job, no exceptions
We come out, look at it and price it. That visit costs you nothing.
One number, agreed before anything begins, GST stated. It does not move.
If our work is not right we come back and put it right at no charge. No expiry.
Real reviews, reproduced word for word
Published on our Google Business Profile. These three mention switchboard work, repairs to existing points, and a mix of inside and outside jobs at one house.
I had an absolute 5 star experience with Luke from NextPoint Electrics. After trying for many years to get my House Switchboard replaced and upgraded, when most other electricians either wouldn't do the work or quoted silly money because it was so involved... Finally I found an experienced and professional Sparky. Reasonably priced, excellent workmanship. I cannot recommend him more highly enough. One very happy customer!
Luke did multiple jobs in my house. Fixed electrical points, fixed my smoke alarm, mounted and installed TVs. He was friendly, punctual and well priced. Would definitely use Luke again for future jobs in my home.
Luke was great with communication and always keeps us informed about timing & punctual. He has a lot of experience and I would highly recommend him. So happy with his work & everything. Love all the work that was done inside & outside our house. Keep up the great work.
Questions about repairs and smaller jobs
Yes, and it is usually cheaper that way, because one visit covers the lot rather than several separate trips. Tell us the whole list when you ring, including the small items you think are not worth mentioning. A morning that covers an exhaust fan, two weatherproof outlets and a sensor light that keeps false triggering is a normal day. Where a part has to be ordered in, we will say which items come back on a second visit.
We do not pretend to. Fault finding is charged for the time it takes, and there is no call out fee on top of it. What you get instead is honesty about the order of things: the fault gets found first, then you get a price for the repair before any repair work starts. Intermittent faults, the ones that only appear after rain, take longer because they have to be reproduced before they can be traced.
If there is a wire down, or anything you can see arcing or hanging loose from the street, ring Powercor first and stay well clear of it. That part of the network is theirs. If the problem is the box itself, the meter panel, the main switch, the underground main between the pillar and the house, or anything inside the house, that is our side. If you are not sure, ring and describe what you can see.
Yes, within a short drive of Ocean Grove, which takes in Drysdale, Barwon Heads, Curlewis, Wallington, Clifton Springs and everywhere else on our service areas page. The acreage out past Wallington and Wallington is well inside the radius, and it is where a good share of the underground mains and driveway lighting work comes from. If you are near the edge of the radius, ring and ask rather than assuming, because it often works out fine.
Still deciding? Ring and tell us what you have got, and we will tell you what it needs.
Complementary services
Ring and describe the problem in your own words. If it is a repair, you get a plain answer about how it gets found. If it is an appliance or an upgrade, you get a fixed price before anything starts.
