Luke did a great job and was very flexible and understanding of our needs. He listened and was very helpful in explaining answers to our questions. I would highly recommend his work.

SPStephen PoorePosted on Google★★★★★

Luke was on time, considerate upon entering the house, and has a pleasant, friendly manner. He also gave excellent advice and suggestions/options for solving the problem, without "pushing" for one or the other. NEXTPOINT Electrics is to be highly recommended.

Luke at NextPoint was fantastic. Arrived on time both times he's done work, texted first to say he was on his way. Very quick, efficient and tidy with both jobs and a great guy to deal with. Highly recommend and will definitely use him again.

Electrician Drysdale FAQ

Do you actually cover Drysdale?

Yes. We are based in Ocean Grove, a straight run up the peninsula, so there is no travel time on the bill and no distance loading. There is no call out fee and no distance loading.

Which parts of Drysdale do you cover?

All of it, the whole 3222 postcode, and the neighbouring towns with it. Nowhere in Drysdale is far enough from us to be worth charging you extra for.

How quickly can you get to Drysdale?

We are based in Ocean Grove, a straight run up the peninsula, so there is no travel time on the bill and no distance loading. We do not promise a set response time, but you get a straight answer on the phone and a time on the day rather than an all day window.

Does being out this way change anything?

Less than on the beachfront, but more than people expect. The bigger factor on a block around Drysdale is distance. Long cable runs mean voltage drop, so cable size matters more than it does on a suburban block, and a fault can be anywhere along the run rather than in a wall.

About Drysdale

Drysdale began as a rural township in the late 1840s, had a post office by 1855 and the railway by 1879, and has since grown together with Clifton Springs into one urban area of around thirteen thousand people. It is the service centre for the middle of the Bellarine.

A town with that much history and that much recent growth has the widest spread of housing on the peninsula. Original township buildings, post-war brick, decades of infill, and new estate housing still going up. A switchboard from 1975 and one from last year are completely different conversations, and here they are on the same street.

The older half is where we see ceramic fuses, no safety switch, and a board with no room left on it for the air conditioning or the charger somebody wants to add. The newer half is usually sound and just needs capacity planned properly before anything else goes on it.

The practical version for a Drysdale owner: which half of the town your house sits in decides the conversation. If it is old enough to have a ceramic fuse board, that is the first thing to look at, before anything else goes on it.

If it is estate housing from the last decade, the board is almost certainly sound and the useful question is capacity. Working out what it will carry before you commit to a charger and a second split system saves doing the work twice.
