Luke did a great job and was very flexible and understanding of our needs. He listened and was very helpful in explaining answers to our questions. I would highly recommend his work.

SPStephen PoorePosted on Google★★★★★

Luke was on time, considerate upon entering the house, and has a pleasant, friendly manner. He also gave excellent advice and suggestions/options for solving the problem, without "pushing" for one or the other. NEXTPOINT Electrics is to be highly recommended.

Luke at NextPoint was fantastic. Arrived on time both times he's done work, texted first to say he was on his way. Very quick, efficient and tidy with both jobs and a great guy to deal with. Highly recommend and will definitely use him again.

Electrician Queenscliff FAQ

Do you actually cover Queenscliff?

Yes. We are based in Ocean Grove, a short run down the peninsula, so there is no travel time on the bill and no distance loading. There is no call out fee and no distance loading.

Which parts of Queenscliff do you cover?

All of it, the whole 3225 postcode, and the neighbouring towns with it. Nowhere in Queenscliff is far enough from us to be worth charging you extra for.

How quickly can you get to Queenscliff?

We are based in Ocean Grove, a short run down the peninsula, so there is no travel time on the bill and no distance loading. We do not promise a set response time, but you get a straight answer on the phone and a time on the day rather than an all day window.

Does being this close to the water change anything?

Outside, yes. Queenscliff gets it off the bay and the heads together, and on a heritage building the fixings are usually older than the fitting. Salt corrodes metal and it does not need to be sea spray to do it: outdoor power points, light fittings, switchboard enclosures and the screws holding them up all age faster here than they do inland. What fails is usually the fixing or the seal rather than the fitting itself.

About Queenscliff

Queenscliff sits at the south eastern tip of the Bellarine, where the Searoad ferry crosses to Sorrento. It is known for its Victorian era streetscape, and a great many of its buildings are on the Victorian Heritage Register, including the hotels put up during the tourism boom that followed the railway in 1879.

That heritage is the thing that shapes electrical work here more than anywhere else on the peninsula. A late nineteenth century building carries whatever has been added to it since, in layers, and often with nothing removed. Cable runs go where the building allowed rather than where anyone would choose, and what is behind a wall is rarely what the last person assumed.

It also means the answer is sometimes slower and more careful than in a house built in the eighties. We will tell you plainly when that is the case, and what it means for the price, rather than quoting the easy version and finding the rest on the day.

The practical version for a Queenscliff owner: expect the assessment to take longer than it would in a house from the eighties, and expect us to say so before quoting rather than after. A heritage building rewards being opened up carefully and punishes being guessed at.

Where a property is on the Heritage Register, some work touches more than the wiring rules. We will tell you plainly where that line sits on your job, and we will not pretend the process is faster than it is.
