Luke did a great job and was very flexible and understanding of our needs. He listened and was very helpful in explaining answers to our questions. I would highly recommend his work.

Luke was on time, considerate upon entering the house, and has a pleasant, friendly manner. He also gave excellent advice and suggestions/options for solving the problem, without "pushing" for one or the other. NEXTPOINT Electrics is to be highly recommended.

Luke at NextPoint was fantastic. Arrived on time both times he's done work, texted first to say he was on his way. Very quick, efficient and tidy with both jobs and a great guy to deal with. Highly recommend and will definitely use him again.

Electrical Work in St Albans Park

From a board in an established house to a supply for a unit going in behind it. Here is what we do most in St Albans Park.

Why St Albans Park locals choose us

You Deserve an Electrician You Can Actually Trust

What goes in behind the house

Most new building here is a unit on a block that already has a house on it. How the supply gets split when that happens is worth getting right the first time, because it is expensive to revisit.

Electrician St Albans Park FAQ

Do you actually cover St Albans Park?

Yes. It is a short run across for us from Ocean Grove, with no distance loading on it. There is no call out fee and no distance loading.

Which parts of St Albans Park do you cover?

All of it, the whole 3219 postcode, and the neighbouring towns with it. Across the whole of it down to the river, none of it far enough out to be worth charging you extra for.

How quickly can you get to St Albans Park?

It is a short run across for us from Ocean Grove, with no distance loading on it. We do not promise a set response time, but you get a straight answer on the phone and a time on the day rather than an all day window.

Is there anything particular about the housing here?

The infill is the story. Between 2016 and 2021 the total number of dwellings rose by fewer than thirty, but the share that were townhouses or units went up by nearly five points, from about ten per cent to over fourteen. Nothing greenfield is being built; units are going in on existing lots. There were no apartments recorded at all. Combine that with a median age of 46 and around 78 per cent owner-occupation and you get a settled suburb where a good part of the new work is a second dwelling behind an existing house.

About St Albans Park

St Albans Park is not an old suburb name. It was separated from Whittington around 1999, and much of its built-up area was created while it was still part of Whittington, particularly west of Wilson Street. Development then continued into the 2000s, with the population rising from about 3,700 in 2001 to nearly 4,700 by 2006.

The name goes back much further, to the St Albans township proclaimed in 1852 and the St Albans homestead and horse stud. The homestead on Homestead Drive was built in 1873 for the horse breeder and trainer James Wilson, a thirty-room polychrome brick mansion with an ornate cast-iron verandah, and it is on the Victorian Heritage Register. Phar Lap stayed briefly at the St Albans stud in 1930, on the eve of his Melbourne Cup win.

The stud left other marks. The St Albans Uniting Church on Wilsons Road dates from 1869, built in squared coursed basalt with limestone dressings, and there is a registered horse burial site believed to hold thoroughbreds including Briseis, who won the Derby, the Melbourne Cup and the Oaks in 1876.

At the 2021 census there were about 4,900 people across 2,171 dwellings, some 86 per cent of them freestanding houses and just over 14 per cent townhouses or units, with no apartments at all. The median age was 46 and growth has essentially finished.

The practical version for a St Albans Park owner: if you are putting a unit on the block, sort out how the supply will be arranged before the plans are final rather than after.

If the house has been held a long while and the board is original, that is worth addressing before you add anything substantial to it.
